Panta Rhei

The "banpaal" I discovered.
I had a wonderful two days.
Yesterday I decided to make full use of the bicycle I can borrow from the Center and went for a ride. The weather was beautiful. It was sunny and a bit windy. I went past the Amstel river and just enjoyed being outside. I even discovered one of the pillars that marked the boundary of jurisdiction of the old city of Amsterdam, placed there in 1625 (see picture). When I was riding back, I felt that this was why I didn’t want to drink anymore.
Today was good, too. Apparently I missed an update or something, so when I arrived the meditation hall was already consecrated, but the food was good, as always and there were loads of people I hadn’t met yet. I also am convinced now I am by far the youngest person active in the Center, excluding children. But that’s ok, I feel like I have a big large family of aunts and uncles taking care of me for the most part, which is lovely. If I remember I will take some pictures of how it all looks now.
I also have started working more actively on the “theme” my counselor has set me. It is quite simply “vulnerability”. I am working with it both as therapy and as a general theme during my meditation practice. At this moment I am working with the difference between “weakness” and “vulnerability” and also with generally being aware of my own vulnerability and how it is part of me. It’s not easy, but it’s a worthwhile theme I think. I have no idea where it will take me, but we’ll see.
I am also starting a course in Kum Nye at the Center this month, as well as start attending a fixed evening in the Zen Center. Quite a full program, but I feel I am up to it and am looking forward to it.
Have a good day!
