Roll on New Year
Well, the most important thing has been sorted for next year: I am staying on at Lotus Design, the meditation cushion workshop of the Nyingma Center in Amsterdam for another year! Hurrah!
I’m very happy about this, because to me it’s one of the best places to be working at this point in my life and I have tried my very hardest to be able to stay on there. And now my efforts have paid off.
It’s a good blend of working with body, speech and mind, as I actually take part in making the products (some pictured below), I handle the phone (both incoming and outgoing), I work on PR, and I get to be part of moving the whole operation forward. To top it all off I get to do all this in a Buddhist context, which means it’s not only work, it’s Dharma practice, too! Hurrah, again!
So that’s a lot of my time sorted for the next year, which is good for my peace of mind. I was very worried for a while that I would have to search for an entirely new job, and while I probably would have found one, I didn’t really look forward to manning a helpdesk again.
So, if anyone out there needs quality handmade meditation cushions or mats, I’m the guy to contact from now on!
To close, I’ll just show you some examples of things we make. Everything is handmade from start to finish. Click the pics for a larger view.
I wish you all good days.
